Organic farming & Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) Certification

In order to learn and practise the new techniques and uplifting the existing organic farming practices, there is a training centre and model farm both in Chyangsar and Ghunsa village where women shareholders can participate in the training, practise in the model farm and apply the learning in their own fields. To take care of the model farm and keep records of all project activities there is one farm manager and farm worker in both village. There are 35 PGS farmers in Chyangsar and 25 PGS farmers in Ghunsa where they grow 100% organic vegetables in the lands they have separated for PGS farming. In close supervision with expert from HASERA, agriculture technician from SWI and inspection committee from village, PGS farming is being monitored. It began in October 2020 and the certification will begin in October 2021, where the PGS farmer’s products will be labelled as organic and supplied in the market.
