Before the formation of cooperative officially, In 2015, Roots for Life , Austria was already working with small group of women in Chyangsar, Solukhumbu to provide relief material support as a part of Nepal Earthquake relief support. Social Work Institute (SWI) started from January 2017 onwards and Later in May 19. 2017, Sagarmatha Milijuli Sana Kishan Mahila Krishi Sahakari Sanstha Limited was officially established and registered in Solududhkunda Municipality, ward no–8, Chyangsar (Solukhumbu district). It is a women-led agricultural cooperative focused on empowering women through participation, decision-making, capacity building and agriculture empowerment. Starting from Chyangsar village, it expanded by 2021 to four villages—Chyangsar, Ghunsa, Merangding- ward no.8 and Kunikhop ward no.5 with sub-centers managed by local committees under a central committee. The cooperative currently has 240 women shareholders.
