Sagarmatha Milijuli Sana Kishan Mahila Krishi Sahakari Sanstha Limited is a women led agriculture cooperative. It was formed in 2015. The main objective of cooperative formation was to ensure women participation, decision making and capacity building among each other. It lies in Solukhumbhu district, Solududhkunda municipality,Kerung, Chyangsar village, ward no. 8. At the initial phase, this cooperative had one main centre at Chyangsar and gradually it has extended its sub centre in four village until 2021. All sub- centres have their own working committees formed where they are accountable to their responsibilities and reporting to main committee whereas the main committee monitors all sub centres and provides necessary support in time of need. The sub- centres are formed at Chyangsar, Ghunsa, Merangding and Kunikhop village. There are total 208 women shareholders in the cooperative at present. About Project In addition to that, to uplift the existing organic agricultural practise of village. There is an ongoing agriculture women empowerment project financed and supported by Roots for Life, Austria, Social Work Institute, Lalitpur for operational support, Chay-ya Austria and Chay-ya Nepal for financial and operational support, Fair Styria and Land Vorarlberg for financial support working in partnership with the cooperative. The agriculture program is being implemented at Ghunsa and Chyangsar village. The main objective of this project is to promote permaculture and preserve existing good practices in organic farming, marketing and selling locally grown vegetables in the market, empower women economically and promote mixed crop farming in order to promote consume mix vegetables among the people in the village and grow all different kinds of vegetables that grow in that altitude. Besides organic farming, the women are also involved in mask making and eco- pad making within the cooperative. Mask making and Eco- pad making program is running smoothly in all four village.
