Agriculture project<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

The Women Empowerment Agriculture Project started in 2017 in Chyangsar village to strengthen organic farming and empower women, supported by Roots for Life (RFL) Austria and Social Work Institute (SWI)Nepal in partnership with the cooperative. It expanded to Ghunsa village (2019\u20132022) with support from Chay-ya Austria later the project was extended with Roots for Life and SWI to Merangding and Kunikhop village in 2021. The project promoted permaculture, mixed farming, and local vegetable production and marketing, and ran until 2025. Technical support to run this project was supported by Hasera.<\/p>

Major activities in Agriculture project in all 4 village<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

  1. Land purchase in cooperative name to run model farm program<\/li>
  2. Construction of cooperative training hall<\/li>
  3. Provide training on Participatory Guarantee System (PGS) to shareholders<\/li>
  4. Distribute agriculture materials such as greenhouse plastic, sprinkler, garden pipe to farmers in PGS program<\/li>
  5. PGS certification to farmers who fulfill the criteria of PGS inspection.<\/li>
  6. Conduct Farmers field school program to selected farmers in year from 2023 -2025<\/li>
  7. Compost toilet use<\/li>
  8. Cooking metal oven distribution to selected farmers<\/li>
  9. Training on Cooperative Account Management<\/li>
  10. Conduct local seed exchange and local food festival exhibition at village level<\/li>
  11. Conduct Solu food festival at Lalitpur, Raithane Restaurant where every food was prepared by cooperative women<\/li><\/ol>

    Besides agriculture project, the project also capacitated the women in mask making, eco- pad making and school uniform making within the cooperative.<\/p>

    Scholarship project<\/u><\/strong><\/span><\/p>

    Project run by Roots for Life Implemented together with SWI<\/u><\/strong><\/p>

    1. Started from year 2021<\/li>
    2. Support for girl\u2019s education after completing SEE to daughters of shareholders<\/li>
    3. Support for 11 and 12 education in Kathmandu and Salleri<\/li>
    4. Run hostel at salleri to accommodate girls for completing their 11 and 12 education<\/li>
    5.
